Give me the 90's- TV Edition

This post is dedicated to all my fellow 90's babies. Every year we get a little older and fashion trends change, music evolves, and childhood games just aren't the same. The one thing I miss the most will be the many TV shows that filled me with wonderful memories. These shows touched my heart in a special way. I'll share just a few because I could go on forever if I discussed all of them in depth.

1. Arthur- Every morning before school and right after, this was on my TV. Arthur reminded me of oldest brother and I was unfortunately D.W. (haha)! I loved how their relationship reminded me of our own at that time. Being the youngest and only girl, it's only natural to be a little pesky, right! Mr. Ratburn always creeped me out with his crazy unrealistic demands and his "nutritious" diet of nails for breakfast! I especially loved the episodes where they were more like musicals. Francine was my favorite during those.

2. As Told by Ginger- This show will always have my heart! I know I sound extremely dramatic, but it's so true. So many girls can relate to her. I was shy, raised by a single mother who worked in health care and had a few close friends. The episode "Hello Stranger" discussed her absent father and brought me to tears, but I love how creator's dealt with real life issues. Ginger, like many of us dealt with wanting to be popular, boys, sibling drama, and friendships.

3. Powerpuff Girls- I would still watch this show if it came on. I don't have a sister and want to be a superhero, so I live vicariously through these three. Their personalities are pretty different so most girls can pick one that represents them. My friends and I would debate who was Blossom, Bubbles, or Buttercup. I was always Bubbles! I remember my mother getting me a Bubbles doll when I was a little girl and I cherished it more than any other toy I had. Even though the show featured three girls, boys watched it as well for the crime fighting. I like that stereotypes were challenged in terms of what a girl's role is in society.

Writing this post and drawing these characters really brought me back and gave me a new found appreciation for my childhood.

What are some of your favorite shows? I would love to hear all about it!

Have a Wonderful Day!

5 Favorite Feelings: Fall Edition

1. Cozy sweaters- Fall temperatures can fluctuate from being really cold and needing a jacket to decent enough to wear just a sweater. Those days are perfect. I love being bundled in a warm sweater. It almost feels like wearing a fashionable blanket all day. While sweaters may not seem appealing to some, I love the variety they can come in. From the fabric, texture, design, embellishments, it's all exciting to choose from. I'm seeing more labels are getting creative and adding unique cutouts as well. Not sure if that will keep you warm, especially where I live, but the idea is nice. Over-sized sweaters have to be my favorite. A cute pair of leggings or jeans and a nice pair of boots makes for a simple yet cute outfit.

☼ HOW TO INSTANTLY HAVE A BETTER DAY ☼

Every morning when I wake up I try to only think of positive things that could happen throughout my day. I emphasize the word "try" because it doesn't always happen. Nonetheless, setting this intention to have a brighter day than yesterday is a huge step. Here are a few other tips that will make today better than ever!

1. Open your curtains- This may sound silly, but it's so crucial for me to start my day off right. I love waking up to the sun shining through my windows creating a warm veil throughout the house. Sun also boosts our spirits by increasing serotonin levels.
